Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
This policy explains how ZN Audiology (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit znaudiologynyc.com. It covers this website only. It does not cover the care we provide at our clinics.
Your health information
Health information you share with us for your care, such as test results, medical history and insurance details, is protected under HIPAA and New York law. How we use and disclose that information is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which we give you at your first visit and which you can request from either clinic at any time.
Please do not send health information through this website. To discuss your hearing, your care or your account, call the clinic you visit or speak with us in person.
Information this website collects
Information you choose to give us. This website does not ask for your name or contact details. When you call us, the call is handled by the clinic. When you book online, you leave this website for Zocdoc, which collects your booking details under its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, we and our service providers collect:
- the pages you view, how long you stay and the links you click, including clicks on our phone numbers;
- how you arrived, such as the website, search engine or AI assistant that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (for example UTM parameters or an ad click identifier);
- technical details such as your browser, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the date and time of your visit.
Your browser also keeps a small record of how you first found us and how you most recently arrived, so we can understand which channels bring visitors to the practice. It stays in your browser’s local storage and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
How we use it
- to run, secure and improve the website;
- to understand which pages and channels are useful to visitors, and how many people go on to call or book;
- to measure our advertising and outreach;
- to comply with the law and protect the rights and safety of our patients, staff and practice.
Cookies, analytics and your choices
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to measure how the website is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives the information described above, including your IP address. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab).
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we turn off advertising storage and advertising personalization for your visit before any advertising tag can load.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Analytics and advertising storage are turned off by default.
- Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, and install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on (opens in a new tab). The website continues to work if you do.
Third-party services on this website
- Google Maps reviews. Ratings, reviews and reviewer images are supplied by Google Maps and load from Google’s servers. See the Google Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
- Patient videos. Videos use Vimeo players with do-not-track mode on. A player loads only when you choose to watch, and Vimeo then receives connection information. See the Vimeo Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
- Online booking. Booking links open Zocdoc, which handles your booking under the Zocdoc Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard request logs, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.
- Session analytics. Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move through pages, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can see where the website is hard to use. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and device details. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab).
- Visitor identification. IntentWave sets an identifier in your browser and may match your visit, including your IP address and the pages you view, with information in its own data network, which can include a name, email address or employer. We use this to understand who is interested in the practice and to follow up. IntentWave may show its own cookie notice. See the IntentWave Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information for money. We share website information with the service providers listed above, who process it to provide their services, and when the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or to protect the safety of our patients and staff.
Under some state privacy laws, visitor identification and advertising measurement can count as “sharing” personal information. To opt out, contact either clinic using the details below and we will stop identifying your visits and remove what we hold where we can. Information about your care is never shared this way.
Security and retention
The website is served only over an encrypted connection. We keep website information for as long as it is useful for the purposes above. Google Analytics data is retained according to the settings of our analytics account. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is one more reason to keep health information off the website.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as the law requires and will not treat you differently for making a request. Requests about your health records are handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Children
This website is meant for adults, including parents and guardians arranging care for a child. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Links to other websites
Other websites linked from ours, including hearing aid manufacturers, Zocdoc, Google and Vimeo, have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our website practices change, and the effective date above will change with it.
